The TwtBizCard application allows you to create simple electronic business cards to use on Twitter. After reviewing the site and playing around with the application, I think it's a great tool for Twitter. The good thing about an electronic business card - its hard to lose or misplace. That could be a good or bad feature - depending on your viewpoint. Jobseekers, students, marketers and power networkers will find this tool beneficial. I want to thank my good Twitter friends @clowetweets & @fishdogs for their help in testing out the twtbizcard application.

The template follows the layout of standard business card. To get started, log onto the TwtBizCard site using your Twitter account information. No need to create a separate account and password. Once your business card is complete, you can include it in @ replies by adding the Twitter hashtag #twtbizcard. For example," @anitasantiago, so nice to meet you #twtbizcard." Important: you can only send these business cards in a @ reply. You cannot use the #twtbizcard hashtag in direct messages (DMs) or tweets. If this is the first twtbizcard, the recipient receives a @reply from @TwtBizCard containing instuctions for retriving and viewing a twtbizcard. If the recipient has received other twtbizcards, new cards automatically appear in their online TwtBizCard account. The TwtBizCard website also stores TwtBizCards you receive in alphabetical order creating a online Rolodex of your important Twitter contacts.

NOTE: If you have problems using twtbizcard, search the Twitter public timeline and ensure your tweets are included. Go to Twitter and in the search box, enter 'from:' and your Twitter user id. For example, from:anitasantiago. If you see a bunch of tweets you recently sent out, then all is well. If the search comes up blank, you won't be able to use twtbizcard. Contact Twitter support for assistance if you can't find your tweets in the public timeline.

How can twtbizcard
help your job search or networking efforts? Have you met a recruiter, hiring manager, company representative or other important person on Twitter? Send them a TwtBizCard in a @reply and start building relationships. Social media activity doesn't translate into jobs or better professional networks. Building strong relationships with your social media contacts makes the difference. Key relationships can propel you to new heights personally and professionally.
